TH11 Attack Overview

TH11 is a major power jump in Clash of Clans. The Grand Warden joins your hero lineup, the Eagle Artillery appears as a new mega-defense, and troop unlocks open up a new tier of attack strategies.

The key to 3-starring TH11 bases is adapting to that Eagle Artillery. It activates after 100 housing space of troops are deployed — and when it does, it hits hard across the entire base. Every top TH11 strategy is built around working with or around that mechanic.


Strategy 1: Queen Walk + Yeti Smash

The most reliable TH11 3-star strategy. Combines a surgical Queen Walk to destroy the Eagle Artillery side with a heavy Yeti ground push through the rest.

Why it works at TH11:

  • Yetis have enough HP to survive Eagle Artillery if timed well with the Warden ability
  • Queen Walk clears one side cleanly before the main push triggers Eagle Artillery
  • The Warden’s Eternal Tome saves the Yeti push at the critical moment

Execution

  1. Queen Walk start. Deploy Queen on the Eagle Artillery side with 4 Healers. Keep her outside the CC trigger radius until CC troops are lured and killed.
  2. Lure and clear CC. Once Queen has some Healer support, kite CC troops to the edge with a cheap troop. Kill with Queen + Poison Spell.
  3. Let the Queen run. She should take out the Eagle Artillery and surrounding defenses on her side. Use Rage on her once inside.
  4. Deploy Yeti push. When the Queen is mid-base, send in Yetis + Witches on the opposite corner. Add Bowlers and Wall Breakers for pathing.
  5. Warden Eternal Tome timing. The moment Eagle Artillery activates (watch the troop count), use the Warden ability to save your push from the first Eagle burst. This is the most important timing in the entire attack.
  6. Freeze key defenses. Use Freeze Spells on active Inferno Towers or Scattershots that are burning through your Yetis.

Strategy 2: Super Witch Spam

The fastest and most beginner-friendly TH11 strategy. Deploy Super Witches across a wide front and let them do the work.

Why Super Witch works:

  • Big Boy skeletons tank for the Super Witches
  • Wide deployment spreads Eagle Artillery damage across many units
  • Fast to learn and execute

Execution

  1. Deploy 2-3 Super Witches at a funnel corner to create a wide entry.
  2. Add a Warden walk (Warden + 2 Healers) slightly behind them to activate his aura on the main push.
  3. Deploy remaining Super Witches across a broad front once the funnel starts opening.
  4. Rage the central push when it hits core defenses.
  5. Time the Warden ability as Eagle Artillery fires or when Infernos lock on.
  6. Deploy Bat Spell (if used) on the Town Hall cluster to clean up remaining buildings.

Strategy 3: LaLoon (Lava Hound + Balloon)

Classic TH11 air strategy. Still highly effective and one of the fastest armies to cook.

Execution

  1. Deploy Lava Hounds on the 3 Air Defense corners to tank for Balloons.
  2. Send Balloons in behind each Hound — they’ll path toward defenses the Hound is tanking.
  3. Use Haste Spells on the main Balloon cluster as they push inward.
  4. Rage the Balloons when they hit the Eagle Artillery or core.
  5. Clean up with Minions on the outer ring.

Key TH11 consideration: TH11 has 4 Air Defenses. You only have 3 Lava Hounds. Target the 3 most dangerous Air Defenses and let your Balloon DPS take out the fourth.


TH11 Spell Strategy Notes

Eagle Artillery Timing

The Eagle Artillery activates at 100 housing space deployed. Count before you attack:

  • 1 Yeti = 5 housing space
  • 1 Super Witch = 20 housing space
  • 1 Lava Hound = 30 housing space

Time your Warden Eternal Tome to activate right as the Eagle fires the first salvo.

Freeze Spell Priority

  1. Single-target Inferno Towers burning through your Queen or key unit
  2. Eagle Artillery to interrupt its multi-burst
  3. Scattershot if it’s hitting clustered Balloons or Yetis

TH11 Common Attack Mistakes

Triggering Eagle Artillery before the Queen is done. If you deploy the ground army too early, the Queen Walk and main army both take Eagle fire simultaneously. Let the Queen fully clear her side first.

Not saving the Warden ability. New players activate the Warden Eternal Tome at the start of the attack when nothing threatening is happening yet. Save it for the Eagle Artillery activation or when Infernos are burning through your core.

Deploying LaLoon before Lava Hounds have aggro. Balloons pathing without a tanking Hound get shredded by Air Defenses. Always confirm Hound aggro before sending Balloon waves.

Skipping CC lure. A TH11 CC with a Super Valkyrie or Electro Dragon can single-handedly destroy a Yeti push that charges in without dealing with it first.
