Hero Equipment in 2026
Hero Equipment was introduced at TH14 and has fundamentally changed how heroes perform in both attack and defense. Instead of relying purely on hero levels, players now equip items that grant stat bonuses, new abilities, and passive effects.
Equipment comes in three rarities:
- Common — obtainable from Blacksmith, widely available
- Epic — craftable or obtainable from events
- Legendary — obtainable from specific challenges, most powerful
This tier list evaluates equipment based on its impact in 2026 war and trophy attacks, accounting for the current meta.
Barbarian King Equipment
The Barbarian King is a ground-based melee fighter. His equipment focuses on HP, damage, and his Iron Fist ability.
S-Tier
Giant Gauntlet (Legendary) The single most impactful piece of equipment in the game. Giant Gauntlet massively increases the King’s HP — at max level, the King with Giant Gauntlet has more HP than some defensive buildings. Combined with Iron Fist, he becomes an unkillable tank that can solo-push through multiple compartments. Essential for any ground attack strategy.
Spiky Ball (Legendary) Adds a bouncing damage ability to Iron Fist that deals AoE damage to buildings and troops. Pairs exceptionally well with Giant Gauntlet — the King tanks with one hand and destroys with the other. The standard Legendary pairing for the King in 2026.
A-Tier
Barbarian Puppet (Common) Spawns additional Barbarians during Iron Fist. At high upgrade levels, these Barbarians deal meaningful cleanup damage. Strong but outclassed by Legendary options.
Rage Vial (Common) Speeds up nearby troops during ability. Useful for GoWiPe or Yeti Smash when the King activates in the middle of the main army. Loses relevance at higher levels when Legendary equipment is available.
B-Tier
Earthquake Boots (Common) Deals damage to buildings in the King’s path. Situationally useful for opening wall sections. Outclassed in most meta builds.
Archer Queen Equipment
The Archer Queen is the most important hero for attack. Her equipment determines Queen Walk effectiveness and overall attack ceiling.
S-Tier
Frozen Arrow (Legendary) Slows the attack speed of defenses the Queen targets. At max level, defenses hit by the Queen fire at significantly reduced rate — making her and her Healers dramatically harder to kill. The top Queen Walk equipment in 2026. A maxed Frozen Arrow Queen Walk is nearly impossible to stop.
Giant Arrow (Legendary) Fires a giant arrow that pierces through multiple buildings and deals massive damage. At high levels, the Giant Arrow can one-shot or severely damage Scattershots and Eagle Artillery from range. Enables “super snipe” Queen Walks that pre-clear key defenses before they can engage.
A-Tier
Archer Puppet (Common) Spawns Archers during ability. Provides cleanup damage and additional chaos during the Queen’s Royal Cloak phase. A strong default option before Legendary equipment is available.
Invisibility Vial (Common) Makes the Queen invisible during ability use. Excellent against single-target Inferno Towers that would otherwise burn through the Queen during her walk. Standard upgrade path before Frozen Arrow.
B-Tier
Magic Mirror (Common) Summons a mirror image of the Queen with reduced stats. Situationally disruptive but outclassed by mobility and survivability equipment.
Grand Warden Equipment
The Warden provides buffs to nearby troops. His equipment focuses on the Eternal Tome ability range, healing, and troop bonuses.
S-Tier
Eternal Tome (Built-in Ability — not swappable) The Warden’s base ability makes nearby troops invincible. The range and duration of this effect is improved by equipment. All Warden equipment choices revolve around maximizing how much of your army benefits from Eternal Tome.
Life Gem (Common) Continuously heals troops within the Warden’s aura. A max-level Life Gem provides significant passive healing throughout the entire attack. Combined with Eternal Tome timing, it keeps troops alive through situations that would otherwise kill them.
Healing Tome (Epic) Provides a burst heal to all nearby troops on ability use. Stacks with Eternal Tome for a powerful combo: invincibility + burst heal + passive aura. The current top-tier Warden setup in 2026 uses Healing Tome + Life Gem.
A-Tier
Rage Gem (Common) Boosts movement and attack speed of troops in the aura. Strong for faster-moving armies. Less valuable than healing equipment for Yeti Smash (Yetis benefit more from sustain than speed).
Fireball (Epic) Gives the Warden a direct attack ability that deals massive AoE damage. At max level, a Warden Fireball can one-shot a cluster of Wizard Towers or damage a Scattershot. High damage ceiling but sacrifices the defensive utility of Healing Tome.
Royal Champion Equipment
The Royal Champion is a ranged hero who targets defenses. Her equipment focuses on her shield-throw ability and bypass range.
S-Tier
Hog Rider Puppet (Legendary) Spawns Hog Riders during the Champion’s ability. These Hogs target defenses and deal significant additional damage during the ability phase. At max level, the spawn count is large enough to assist clearing an entire outer ring of defenses. The top RC equipment in 2026.
Rocket Spear (Legendary) Fires a long-range rocket during ability that targets the nearest defense. At max levels, the Rocket Spear can hit defenses from across the base. Combined with her natural wall-bypass, the RC can pre-destroy key defenses from completely outside the base. Essential for precision RC snipe strategies.
A-Tier
Giant Gauntlet (Legendary — same item as King) Can be equipped on the RC for dramatically increased HP. Makes her significantly harder to kill during walk strategies. Useful when using the RC as a primary walk hero rather than a sniper.
Shield Ring (Common) Increases shield HP during ability activation. Extends the RC’s effective walk duration. A strong default before Legendary equipment is available.
B-Tier
Super Potion (Common) Temporarily boosts the RC’s damage output. Situationally useful but outclassed by Legendary options in the current meta.
Equipment Upgrade Priority
If you’re new to equipment, upgrade in this order:
Phase 1 (new to TH14):
- Get Barbarian Puppet and Archer Puppet to level 9
- Get Warden’s Life Gem and Rage Gem to level 9
- These are cheap, widely available, and dramatically better than default equipment
Phase 2 (mid TH14-15):
- Craft or earn Giant Gauntlet for the King — this is the single biggest power spike
- Craft Frozen Arrow for the Queen — transforms Queen Walks
- Upgrade Life Gem to max on Warden
Phase 3 (late TH15-16):
- Max Rocket Spear for Royal Champion
- Get Spiky Ball for King to pair with Giant Gauntlet
- Max Healing Tome for Warden
Equipment FAQ
Can I swap equipment during an attack? No — equipment must be set before the attack begins.
Do I need Legendary equipment to be competitive? At TH14-15, maxed Epic equipment is competitive. At TH16, Legendary equipment becomes increasingly expected for serious war performance.
Can the same Legendary item be equipped by multiple heroes? No — each equipment item can only be on one hero at a time.
Where do I get Legendary equipment? Seasonal events, special challenges, and the Builder Base exchange are the primary sources. Check the in-game event tab regularly.
